The joy I felt when my alarm gently roused me from a good nights sleep was without a doubt the most arse clenching upsetting thing to have happened to me in weeks. In summary, it was a bit of a downer. Still, the rent doesn’t pay itself.

Today is my first day back in the office after the Christmas Break, I struggled to sleep last night, but so far its been an OK day. I am also taking a big step tonight, I am meeting up with a new personal trainer to discuss what he might be able to work with me to achieve my goals. Hopefully, the Avascular Necrosis of my joints and my two hip replacements won’t cause too much of a problem. It will be good to get back into a gym routine. But I’ll tell you more about the appointment later on.
Breakfast
I struggle with breakfast. I always have. Forcing myself to eat breakfast is more of a chore than the ritual breaking of the overnight fast it should be. So today was hard, I had the apricot and granola breakfast bar with a bowl of red fruits with some yoghurt. I am going to be strict with myself.
Lunch
Crudite & Penne Rigate with Tomato and Olives. I had a meeting run over and didn’t manage to eat until nearly 3 pm, it was cold, but I’m impressed. It certainly hit the spot.
Dinner
Tonight I had some dry fried frozen cabbage and the JP Chicken Casserole. It was *so* tasty and didn’t need any extra salt. It did need pepper, but I come from a family that puts pepper on everything.
Gym
This evening was spent at my new gym. I met with my new personal trainer and discussed my background, weight issue, and explained how Avascular Necrosis works, and how I came to be living with it. He seemed to get where I was going, he understands I don’t want to be a skinny twink but a healthy, stocky guy.

The gym itself is friendly, it has the same feel as my old gym, the late lamented Paris Gym in Vauxhall London. So fingers crossed I think this can place work for me. On Wednesday I also have my induction to the gym in my building, which means I only have to travel to the 1st Floor to do some ‘light’ cardio, bleugh!
In Conclusion
After extensive research last night I’ve come across a weight loss supplement called Glucomannan. Glucomannan is a water-soluble polysaccharide that is considered a dietary fibre; it helps fill up your stomach and let you feel fuller for longer. I will be trying this over the next few days to see if it helps. If not, as I mentioned yesterday to day 2, I will be sending a strongly (and I cannot emphasize strongly enough) worded letter of complaint to Mz Kate Moss.
